Preparing Your Home For The Spring Market WHAT You Need To Know

The spring market is here  !!  Are you thinking of selling your home and not sure  where to start? There are a few preliminary steps that can be taken for a smooth  start.  The first thing to do is de-clutter!!  Get rid of old newspapers, magazines piles, magnets on the refrigerator,  piles of clothes, etc... having these items scattered throughout your home can make your place look smaller as well as unappealing. Buyers like to imagine what your home would look like with their possessions in it.

The 2nd thing to do is start sprucing up small things that make a visual impact...change out switch plates, paint the trim and rooms will look fresh ( try to stay in a neutral palette) ,  replace old kitchen cabinet pulls and handles, replace caulk around sink,  install new door handles and front door knob.  Also, having a home inspection is a very smart step.   You  will  know what needs to be fixed or replaced; taking this proactive stance will cost a few hundred dollars however, most experts agree this is money well spent.  You can also start packing up the items you removed from the de-cluttering. Putting the boxes in an unused room or asking a friend or family member to store them will help to make your home more appealing and inviting.

Once you have a handle on  these items , find an agent to work with.  Find someone who is familiar with the local market and presents you with an organized,  marketing plan.  If you have any questions about the market,  staging and getting your home ready., don't hesitate. I am more than happy to set up a consultation. If would like to set up an interview feel free to reach out. or 267.718.0908.
